Aviva Metals
With a State of Ohio Regional Loan 166, this Houston based company was able to open a metal facility in Lorain, Ohio. Twenty years plus later, National Bronze & Metals (now Aviva Metals) continues to grow and thrive.
Back in 1997, a Houston company, National Bronze and Metals, Inc. was looking to open a manufacturing facility plant in Northeast Ohio. Luckily, an 80,000 square foot space in Lorain was available. The total financing necessary for the renovation and equipment was $1.45 million. After working with the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, the Lorain County Commissioners Economic Development Department and Growth Capital Corp., a State of Ohio Regional Loan 166 was granted and the facility was able to obtain the equipment needed to run its bronze and copper foundry. The other funding for the facility was provided by the Lorain County Revolving Loan Funds.
With all this in place, National Bronze & Metals, Inc. was established in Northeast Ohio in September 1997. Since then, National Bronze & Metals, Inc. has grown and expanded, even changing its name and brand to Aviva Metals in November 2017. They have since expanded beyond Houston and Ohio to France and Mexico as well, and are in the process of expanding their machine shop.
Michael Greathead, President of what is now Aviva Metals says of the 1997 loan and renovation in Ohio, “There is no doubt that the guidance and assistance provided by Growth Capital Corp. played a major role in enabling the shareholders to move forward with the venture.” This has only been good news for people in Ohio with job creation and growth over the years.
